SOUL MATE

Last night as I walked along
Deep within my dream
I came across a woman
With eyes of emerald green
Her hair was long and golden
She looked so tall and lean
She danced around a meadow
That was near a velvet stream

She wore a long white dress
That was made of satin and lace
She looked to be familiar
Maybe from another time or place

Then she reached out to hold me
With a smile upon her face
Her eyes seemed to pull me in
With a warm and fond embrace

She told me that she loved me
And I felt it to be true
When I looked into her eyes
I felt the same way too
She said that I was her soul mate
Lost in the sands of time
Now that she had found me
She’d set things back in line

Then she gently kissed me
This overwhelmed my mind
I never felt such passion
Never in my time
Her lips were sweet and tender
Like the morning dew
She whispered something softly
And then faded out of view

As I slowly awakened
From this vivid dream
In my hand was a flower
From that meadow scene
I feel her soul touching me
Time and time again
I can hear her voice calling me
In the whispering of the wind

She said that she’ll always be here
Right up until the end
When time cries out my final tear
Our souls shall meet again.
